Lightdm login loop (only for user, not root)

Hello,
I have xfce and I installed lightdm:

pacman -S  lightdm lightdm-gtk-greeter
systemctl enable lightdm

but when I login, ightdm disappears (so the password is correct), but xfce doesn't show up, then lightdm appears again. The only way to login into xfce is using the root account (in which lightdm works flawlessly)

I put my journalctl sudo journalctl -b | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st here https://0x0.st/oEJv.txt

I also tried to remove Xauthority (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/LightD … login_loop) but it doesn't solve the problem

Are you fully updated, including rebuilding AUR packages you may have?
(you have xfce4-session crashing, returning you to login).

You can try to start xfce without DM, maybe it will output specific error. Or rename XFCE config folder, so you have empty config.

everything is just installed without errors, all updated, in fact the first login in lightdm was ok, then I installed gufw, zsh and a couple of simple software but after a reboot it doesn't login anymore using my user account.
I suppose it's not a DM problem because I can login using root account

It is not the DM, it is xfce4-session, so you need to investigate in this direction.
(because root work, I suspect you may changed something that xfce doesn't like in your user, so delete/rename user xfce config)

is there a single file for xfce config? it seems not

startx fails because you have neither a custom xinitrc, nor xterm - but that's not relevant to your problem anyway.

xfce4-session crashes:

Probably not the problem, but possibly a problem:

The bigger problem in the xorg log is the resulting

[    51.098] (II) IGLX: Loaded and initialized swrast
[    51.098] (II) GLX: Initialized DRISWRAST GL provider for screen 0

=> drop the xf86-video-intel pacakge.

Since the OP can login as root, I'd though be surprised if the insufficient GL was the problem here (maybe if the users session relies on some GL heavy feature that's not enabled in the root session?)
