[SOLVED] nm-connection-editor fails upon editing connections

Hi everyone,

I installed nm-connection-editor and tried editing connections, but upon completing the steps the program immediately exits with this message:

(nm-connection-editor:5193): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 10:01:49.261: settings object created with schema 'org.gnome.nm-applet.eap' and path '/org/gnome/nm-applet/eap/efbf7c95-fe4d-4638-9956-1cfbbbcdda08/', but path '/org/gnome/nm-applet/eap/' is specified by schema
zsh: trace trap nm-connection-editor

Like it's looking for the gnome backends of GlibGIO, although I am not using gnome (I am using dwm). Also, that trace trap at the end looks suspicious... Assuming this is relevant, my user is in group network, but running the command as sudo won't make any difference. Any hint on how to solve this?

EDIT: I see gcr-4 as a dependency of nm-connection-editor. I remember a file conflict between gcr and gcr-4 not much time ago, since the two packages both included gcr-ssh-agent. I don't know, but may this be linked to the issue?

Re: [SOLVED] nm-connection-editor fails upon editing connections

I have the same error message (with a different path). It's not only when editing, but also when adding.
Version installed 1.30.0-1 from the extra repo.

***Edit***
After downgrading (which didn't help) I saw (at upgrading) there were new packages of libnma. After installing those, nm-connection-editor works again.

Solved for me.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately this is not my case: I removed nm-connection-editor completely and re-installed a few times now, and that did not do it.

You did receive updates for libnma, libnma-common and libnma-gtk4? What version are you on?
My version for these packages is 1.10.4-3.

That was it. I did not notice I was running version 1.10.4-2 of those libraries. They appeared in my package database today after a refresh, and installing them solved everything. Thank you for your help @GeBo. Marking as solved.
