Random backlight lost on DELL U2520D

For some time I have strange issue (I guess like is started to happen this year).

When I'm away for maybe 30 minutes, few hours (it's hard to measure time to fail), then one of my screen (DELL U2520D) is not recovering from energy star/whatever feature suspend. The second one works without any issues (Dell U2515H).

In fact, it looks like a backlight issue only since I found out that with strong light it's possible to see an image on the screen.
On/off button does not help. The only thing that fixes the issue is to physically reattach a power cord of the monitor.

I've filed an issue to Dell and received the new one (DELL U2520D), but the issue is still there.

Any ideas if it's a hardware issue, and the second screen is also buggy, or it's something in a system or maybe with a GPU (nvidia GTX 970)?

For now, I've switched the GPU DVI ports, but the issue is still there.

Re: Random backlight lost on DELL U2520D

Please have a look at this post.
Specifically:

Option	"ConnectToAcpid"	"False"

and/or

Option	"NoPM"	"true"

and/or

Option	"DPMS"	"Disable"

I guess that setting these parameters are only workaround to not allow screen to fall into energy saving mode and then into the issue.

Is there any point of using these except for a workaround?

Nope, not at all.
But you could start with that to check if that's actually related to the Power Management or something else.

On the other hand, wile working 8h with it (so no suspend, power saving etc.) then there is no issue.

What's more. Even full poweroff/restart of the screens and pc itself do not fix the issue.
