Hi, normally you'd plug in an external harddrive and go `df -h` or `sudo fdisk -l`, find the name of the device and then mount it somehow. However with a power bank, nothing that could conceivably be the power bank shows up with these commands.
Does anyone know how to go about 'mounting/enabling' an external powerbank on arch? Needless to say current behavior is that you plug it in and nothing happens.
I'm running arch on an msi alpha 15 with a Winx power bank. Any light anyone could shine on this would be much appreciated, I'm in South Africa and we're having ridiculous power outages atm.

That laptop can't accept power over USB.
If it could it would just work without anything showing up as a device.

What do you expect to happen? It's a power bank, it will be charging/charged when you plug it in. To check whether anything at all is detected you can check e.g.
dmesg -Wbefore plugging it in.

I expected my battery life to go up instead of down. This should be bleeding obvious @V1del.
But thanks @Slithery for your answer.
