This is an unusual thing; it took me a while to realize it was regular, since I almost never reboot my machine.
I'm running Arch on what I consider to be more or less standard hardware; I have a mechanical keyboard connected by USB. I use XFCE.
When I reboot my system, the keyboard responds flakily for some time: typically, after a (short) period of not typing, the first few keystrokes (sometimes 1-2, sometimes as many as 3-4 keystrokes) don't register. Then, the keyboard will work normally. If I stop typing for a while (about 30 seconds or so), this behavior returns. If I keep typing, everything is normal; there are no issues if there's no delay in typing.
This behavior seems to last 2-3 days after a reboot, at which point the keyboard works normally. When it happens, it's immediately perfect; there's no period when it might or might not work. I have not tested a different keyboard during this period, but unplugging and replugging the keyboard has no effect.
Any ideas on what could be causing this? I am loathe to reboot the machine to test theories, but I'd love to prevent this from happening.

The two major things to look at would be
1. the hardware (try a different keyboard)
2. usb autosuspend, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Power_ … utosuspend
