sudo lshw -short
Compare the output on all four machines, specifically in the class column. Some people report that the "disk" class does not exist on some setups. If that is the case, then using lshw with class ( -C ) disk may return empty output. Maybe you have a storage class but not a disk class on the two machines in question?

Unless I missed something in your output, it appears as if machine 3 and 4 do not have a "disk" class in the list. If that is indeed the case, then the empty output of your command, lshw -C (class) disk, is expected.
That leads me to wonder what OS are you running on the machines? Specifically, are they running the same distro, Arch Linux? How did you install lshw on the four machines? Are they running different kernels? I guess now your point of troubleshooting would be why the disk class is present on only 2 of four machines.
That being said, I do not know offhand what the difference is, if any, between storage class and disk class. Before spending a lot of effort researching to find out, I would suggest first combining the two classes into one command and see if the output still differs on the four machines:
sudo lshw -class disk -class storage
or
sudo lshw -C disk -C storage

I have also checked versions and dependencies. All machines have lshw B.02.19.2-5, hwdata 0.365-1, and gcc-libs 12.2.0-1 installed. The obsolete package hwids is not installed. I have attempted re-installing both lshw and hwdata, which has had no effect.
