xauth: file /run/user/1000/Xauthority does not exist

I have set the "$XAUTHORITY" variable to "$XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/Xauthority" as suggested in the wiki. However, now whenever I do `startx` for the first time after boot, I get the error shown above. Is it indicating something bad? How do I fix it?

Where have you "set" that and how?
