I was trying to listen audio through a headphone connected by cable, but it does not work. I am using gnome and on settings-audio I can't change from internal speaker to headphones as it's not detected. I am not sure what logs to provide if necessary.
Offline
Run the following, and post the output in code tags:
sudo journalctl -p 3 -bAlso, check about Pulse Audio (If this is not the audio middleware you have installed).
I almost never had any problems using it and everything always worked out of the box.

You have quite some problems, mostly related to your Bluetooth device. I can't clearly see if one of them is causing your headphone issues.
But one of the errors also indicates that there is a systemd related issue as well.
Run the following commands and post the outputs individually:
cat /proc/versionand
systemctl --failedLast edited by babaliaris (2023-01-09 19:26:19)

BT issues aren't going to be relevant to a jack detection issue.
To better get at the status quo, what do you get from
aplay -lL
amixer -c0
sudo dmesg | grep -iE 'sof|snd'
pactl list cards
pactl list sinkswhat's your actual hardware/sound card/mainboard? Post these outputs in code tags: https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

I've reached my knowledge limits. I don't see anything wrong with these outputs. Hopefully someone else, like V1del will probably be able to help you.
You can also ask here on the PipeWire subreddit they might be able to help you.

From a general logistics perspective there simply doesn't exist a headphone control, this doesn't necessarily have to mean anything, but if it does then you have a low level kernel issue that can't get fixed by pipewire or pulseaudio.
FWIW what do you get from
speaker-test -c2 -Dhw:0normal output (... it will be noise, but do you hear noise?) while on speakers, no output on headphones?
Try
options snd_hda_intel model=headset-modein /etc/modprobe.d/hda-fix.conf and reboot. Which exact laptop is this?

I hear the noise only on the speakers not on headphones with the code bellow
$ speaker-test -c2 -Dhw:0
speaker-test 1.2.8
Playback device is hw:0
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
Rate set to 48000Hz (requested 48000Hz)
Buffer size range from 64 to 1048576
Period size range from 32 to 524288
Using max buffer size 1048576
Periods = 4
was set period_size = 262144

Should I just add this line 'options snd_hda_intel model=headset-mode' on /etc/modprobe.d/hda-fix.conf (just checked and it's an empty file on my machine).

Yes create the file with that content and try to reboot and recheck/repost the outputs

Should I change pipeware to pulseaudio?

will not help, unless you get the speaker-test to work there's nothing either of these two can do to make it work. With the change in place what do you get from
amixer -c0now? potentially test the LTS kernel or so. Sanity check - your headphones are ok? Do they work on another system/phone/whatever?

The BIOS having a bug here/incorrectly set up verb tables can definitely be an issue as well, yes.

I tried twice to install linux-lts and it worked with no problems, I also checked I don't need linux-lts-headers. But I am lost about how to install GRUB and boot from the linux-lts. I will create a new thread about it.
