Weird graphics glitches on old intel machine (cira 2009)

Hi guys.

I'm attempting to install arch with a desktop environment kde or cinnamon on these old visiosign machines. I have two of them and both of them show the exact same behavior.

lspci tells me the gpu is a: Intel Atom Processor D2xxx/N2xxx

The desktop environment login screens all look like this: https://i.imgur.io/tsldnVa_d.webp?maxwi … ity=medium
I've tried the 32bit version of mesa and mesa-amber.

All I can find online regarding this type of gpu is this:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=253942

Which talks about a proprietary deal with Microsoft and Intel regarding these atom processors, so perhaps it's a lost cause.

Thank you in advance.

<EDIT>
You'd also have a look at online resources via your preferred Search Engine...
Just some examples:

- https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php … st12957261
- https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/i3 … 7-0ubuntu1

I once had (some) fun with an ASUS 1011CX installing Ubuntu on it... tongue
</EDIT>
