Gnome default theme broken on nautilus and gnome-control-center

I had an theme related (or I think so) problem with Gnome, nautilus and gnome-control-center specifically. Because I was unable to find the cause, I reinstalled the whole system again. This solved the problem for a while, until the last boot, at which time the problem has reoccurred.

The problem seems to be related with the theme, which is the default one (Adwaita), unchanged. Text formatting, icon size and padding is wrong. When I click on a icon in nautilus it doesn't get the usual highlighting.

The installation is very basic. The only installed applications are evolution, firefox and flatpak-keepassxc.

Here are some images of the problem:

Any idea of the root cause?

Re: Gnome default theme broken on nautilus and gnome-control-center

Fixed. I was dragging an old fix for flatpak on my .bashrc. I was forcing a dark theme via GTK_THEME, which broke when Gnome changed to libadwaita.
