Static libraries

Hi all,
I'm trying to create a PKGBUILD for zabbix (http://www.zabbix.com/index.php).
At the end of the process I obtain in /usr/lib some static libraries (ie. file with .a extension).
I would know if this "behaviour" is acceptable, or I need to do something else.
Thanks

Luca

Re: Static libraries

A little update:
it seems that these libraries are not necessary.
The same software for ubuntu doesn't contain any of these files.

Re: Static libraries

In Arch those files are kept, because they will be needed for some other package that may be compiled statically with it.
Ubuntu doesn't have this because they have --dev packages for this.
