[SOLVED] Avoid disconnecting from wifi when lid closes

When I close my lid, it disconnects from wifi and bluetooth.

How can I prevent that?

At least the wifi.

I didn't implement this.

I didn't modify my udev rules for this.

I didn't ask for this.

This is so horrible.

I wish I had installed Windows 11.

Sounds like you're going into suspend. Set it not to.

It's not too late to install Windows.

Sounds like you're going into suspend. Set it not to.

I didn't ask for suspend on lid closing, so I don't know how to unset it.

Is it possible that GNOME set it up for me?

I have both GNOME and Hyprland installed.

It's not too late to install Windows.

I would if only I could get a reimbursement for my Arch license.

I don't know why are you quoting this.

They are two different questions.

This question is: "how to avoid suspend mode on lid close" or whatever is happening.

That question is: "how to have bluetooth reconnect with the correct profile".

Aren't they two different questions?

Btw. windows will also suspend the system when closing the lid any by default.

And if you want to continue to use arch, I suggest to first learn how to stop whining. It's not helping you.

In `/etc/systemd/logind.conf` I have:

#HandleLidSwitch=suspend
#HandleLidSwitchExternalPower=suspend
#HandleLidSwitchDocked=ignore

As you can see they are commented out?

Unless that's a joke you've been scammed.

I knew there was something fishy about that guy with the eye patch selling operating systems around the corner.

If the system is inserted in a docking station, or if more than one display is connected, the action specified by HandleLidSwitchDocked= occurs; if the system is on external power the action (if any) specified by HandleLidSwitchExternalPower= occurs; otherwise the HandleLidSwitch= action occurs.

1. What is a "docking station"?

2. The integrated monitor of my laptop counts as one display? So when I connect my external monitor, that's two displays?

And so if I close the lid when my external monitor is connected, HandleLidSwitchDocked occurs. If I close it without my external monitor connected, HandleLidSwitch occurs?

Does that explain why I have to connect my external monitor with the lid open, and close it afterwards, otherwise it won't work?

I'm pretty sure that if you make an effort, maybe remember that google exists and what you learned from Sesame Street, you'll be able to answer all those questions yourself.

I'm not American, we don't have Sesame Street here.

We had "L'Albero Azzurro" (the light blue tree).

It featured a quack-like animal that managed to talk.

But it had not the same educational-content at Sesame Street.

You should know Seth, you are the God of foreigners among other things.

Well, I guess my next question would be how to wake from suspend when I connect my external monitor through HDMI.

My rule to connect it with the lid open is making much more sense now.
