IOgear GPSU21 locking up on Arch login

New Linux user coming over from Windows.
We've had this IOgear GPSU21 Ethernet to USB print server running for a couple of months without issue.
I have a couple of spare laptops that I've installed different versions of Linux on and so far I like Arch the best.  Recently realized that when I start Arch it freezes the GPSU21 and the print server has to be power cycled to work again.
First noticed this when the printer would go offline in Windows. Traced it down to the device stops responding as soon as I log into the Arch machine. I can send a constant ping to the print server device, with it responding, through the boot of Arch all the way to the login screen but as soon and I enter my password and hit enter the print device stops responding and goes offline.
I have two other laptops, one with Fedora and one with Manjaro to test with. The Fedora laptop will not freeze up the print server but strangely enough Manjaro will freeze the printer server. I did have a third laptop the would dual boot SUSE and Manjaro. The SUSE install would not lock up the print server but the Manjaro install would lock it up.
I've heard that Manjaro it's based on Arch so is it possible that something in Arch is causing this?
