Sorry to bother,
I am running into FS#74916, and I am not able to wrap my head around patching the kernel to fix this. At least, my issue appears to be the same. Before applying a patch, I would like to confirm that this is, indeed, the same issue.
The issue:
I have two identical M.2 NVMe drives -- one for Arch/Windows (nvme0n1), another as storage (nvme1n1). Windows can see the second NVMe drive, but Arch can not. About 50% of the time, I can boot. When I can not boot, I am thrown into emergency shell and can see nvme1n1, but cannot mount nvme0n1. When I am booted into Arch, nvme1n1 is not populated. The drive is physically seen on bus 04, but not being addressed and not mountable.

However, it breaks my display and I am no longer able to get a GUI running.
What happens:
Decrypt volume and the screen hangs, and I am unable to type.
Able to access TTY2,3,4 etc... and type, but after a few seconds, TTY bounces back to TTY1.
So I play musical chairs bouncing back to TTY2 typing commands one word at a time.
Disabling lightdm.service stops the bouncing back to TTY1.
LXDE is reporting there are now no screens.
What I have done:
Stopped / restarted lxdm.service. lightdm.service.
Reinstalled lxdm, lightdm, nvidia, nvidia-utils, nvidia-settings, xorg.
Generated a new xorg.conf with nvidia-xconfig.
It is probably something simple, but I have never encountered something like this and am not getting anything from the logs other than there are no screens found. The NVMe patch works, but it has broken my GUI. Will you please assist?

First of all, remove the /etc/X11/xorg.conf - it'S pointless cruft.
2nd you'll need an nvidia kernel module for the kernel, hence will have to use https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x8 … idia-dkms/ AND install the header package that loqs provided.

The issue persists, but in a somewhat different way.
Twice I have ran into the same issue where either nvme0 or nvme1 will be mounting post boot, but when I am able to get booted into Arch, nvme1 will, seemingly randomly, become undetectable just as before, and not be mountable.

I will investigate the power saving mode inquiry from the report, but I am going to reopen this issue until the secondary NVMe is stable. As of now, the kernel patch has not been reported. I did want to wait in order to test stability.

It has nothing to do w/ the ID collision.

I have applied the APST fix and will observe.
The original issue of colliding ID's reappeared after a system update. I feel now silly asking, but will a system update remove a patch? I reapplied the patch and just had twenty successful boots.

If the update brought you a new kernel, the patched kernel will be overwritten.
