Hello, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. Recently my computer has been shutting down, no warning, no shutdown screen. Just like if power got cut off.
I've been checking journalctl -b-1 but I can't find anything about the shutdowns.
Here is the output from journalctl -b-1 | grep systemd
https://pastebin.com/FrK2hhsQ
And here is the complete output of jounalctl -b-1
https://pastebin.com/X0jY2CbJ
Please tell me if you need more information. ![]()

Underpowered, overheated or broken RAM/CPU.
This kind of incident will not be logged in the journal of the affected boot (it cannot since the HW gets pulled away under the OS w/ no time to even write errors to disk), but you might see MCE errors in the following boot.
For ryzen specifically see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Ryzen#Random_reboots
Also check memtest86+ (you'll have to run that at least over night for somewhat meaningful results - unless it yells errors at you immediately)
On a remote chance and if there's a parallel windows, see the 3rd link below (windows might have scheduled a reboot or so)

You can run memtest86+ to check your RAM. You can include the CPU registers as well for the test.
Sudden shutdowns like these are usually hardware related so as seth said no time for the OS to log anything.

It was a hardware issue. My watercooling wasn't working well. Thank you for your help. ![]()
