Any CLI browser in Arch by default ?

Is there any CLI browser like lynx,links/elinks in Arch ?
As I have installed the base arch (without X) and want to browse, i don't find any CLI browser.
As I have very limited bandwidth under dial up, I can not use pacman  to install packages from net as of now.

Re: Any CLI browser in Arch by default ?

I just looked through the packages provided by the base install cd but I cannot find any. Well... maybe I overlooked one because I only know of links and w3m.

In fact I don't even know what CLI does mean. big_smile

If you are not able to install packages via pacman because of you bandwidth and you _want_ to use arch nevertheless, I suggest to somehow get the 'current' (not base) install cd because there are more packages. Like X, w3m, etc.

Pretty sure there's none in base install, haven't really done a through check though, I normally install Lynx after installing the base system, If you can use pacman, it wouldn't take much even with limited bandwidth to install one of the browsers you mentioned as they are quite small anyway

Re: Any CLI browser in Arch by default ?

Updated pacman and installed elinks.
But even after installing kdebase and xdm I could connect get the GUI.
Since I culd not use the mouse, I am unable to post the error codes while starting the X server.

As a last resort I wud try to copy the xorg.conf file from Vector Linux and use it with Arch.

Re: Any CLI browser in Arch by default ?

The wiki page helped me a lot and I could get xserver working.
Just edited the rc.conf and inittab files and ran the telinit 5 command and I got the GUI.
Now I am posting this from Arch.
Thanks to everybody.
