So I would like to encrypt only one partition where Arch is already installed. Is it enough to follow this guide https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/dm-cry … _partition or this is just used for new disks. I'm a bit hesitant to try in order not to screw up my setup. I also heard that I would need to encrypt swap partition as well, but I'm not sure if that's the case.

To ensure I understand correctly, you want to encrypt the currently unencrypted root file-system of your Arch install without re-installation. The system also has a swap partition that is unencrypted ?

Yes exactly

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … ile_system in addition to the guide you have already read. I suggest you also backup any files you wish to preserve in case the process fails.

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … encryption to see if you think you would benefit from encrypted swap.
