I've encountered some problems with Vanilla and Zen kernel v6.2.1 together with the new retbleed=stuff kernel parameter. Both problems seem to occur for other users too.
Zen kernel:
The kernel won't boot. It hangs with the last messages being:
[......] FAT-fs (sdb1): IO charset iso8859-1 not found.
[FAILED] Failed to mount /efi.
[DEPEND] Dependency failed for Local File Systems.
There is a delay of ~80s before the "FAT-fs (sdb1)..." message. Without the kernel parameter the system boots and runs perfectly fine.
Vanilla kernel:
This system boots and runs fine but won't wake up from suspend. A similar problem was reported in January
https://lkml.kernel.org/lkml/Y7qp80cK+r … zn.tnic/T/
but I don't know if this is related in any way.
System:
CPU: I5-6600
GPU: GTX 1070

Please post the full journal for a boot with the issue. You can find a kernel with the fix for the issue you linked in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/77601

Can you reproduce the issue if you blacklist the out of tree nvidia and virtualbox modules?
If you try linux-6.2.arch1-1.3 from the bug report I linked with the boot option lsm=landlock, lockdown, yama, integrity so the bpf lsm is not used can you reproduce the issue?

I do not have a general problem with the vanilla kernel. it boots fine. I just mentioned it because the Zen kernel locked up during boot and i wanted to try another kernel to see if it is a general problem. I than noticed that the vanilla kernel had a problem too - as mentioned by another user on Reddit (the issue with suspend) but it's not really a problem that bothers me since I use the Zen kernel.
If I'm honest, I'm not willing to give this version of the vanilla kernel another try. It pseudo-bricked my system last time. That is, the PC wouldn't turn on after I had to forcefully turn it off. I had to physically remove the power chord. I don't no why that is. It sounds silly but that's what I experienced.
I'll live without this retbleed=stuff for now. It's only a single digit improvement anyway if I'm not mistaken.
