Hi, I'm trying to figure out why torrents remain stuck at zero (even if I start downloading something with thousands of seeders).
Specifically, this happens in all the torrent clients I've tried, such as Transmission, qtorrent, rtorrent, etc., essentially all the ones listed on the Archwiki.
Confusingly though, the same torrent downloads in no time if I use Brave's webtorrent (an in-browser torrent downloader) or if I use Stremio (a tool for streaming torrents).
I suspect the issue might be related to the fact that when I look at Transmission's settings, it says that the receiving port is closed:

This only started happening with the recent update (end of February 2023) of Transmission. It's also worth mentioning that I usually use a VPN when downloading, but even with the VPN disconnected the issue is happening.
I appreciate any help with this ![]()

In your firewall configuration (which one do you use?), is port 51413 open for both TCP and UDP traffic?
If yes, aren’t you behind ISP-supplied firewall or NAT? If yes, you may need to either open or redirect this port to your machine.
Finally, your ISP may be simply discriminating against Torrent users.
