For context, I use Arch on a Aspire 5750G laptop with a broadcom bcm-43227 wifi. I worked well for 2 years with broadcom-wl module.
And now, after an update, for some reason, my mirrors were slightly out of date and the module did not load correctly
So i had to do it manually with modprobe wl, as I often did in the past.
now the interface wlan0 is visible again in ip addr, however, it is now impossible for me to connect to PSK protected networks. NetworkManager keeps asking me for the key.
I checked dmesg: the module is loaded with no error
I checked journalctl for NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant: they both tell me: "Association took too long"
of course, dhcpcd and iwd are disabled.
The version used is broadcom-wl 6.30.223.271-457
I also tried with broadcom-wl-dkms with no results either.
I have no idea what to check next.
If anyone could bring me another clue, it will be very appreciated!
