Using Arch Linux on a 2013 Macbook Air. Also using pipewire.
When I try to use text-to-speech engine whether on Firefox reader view or ╰─$ spd-say "speak this out loud" I get the following sound message.
"This is a dummy output module. It seems your speech dispatcher is working, but you know this sound put module, except me. Please check out your log file to see what is the problem...."

Do you have espeakup installed?

The most common cause of these errors is that espeakup isn't installed.
