There's a million different answers for this.  I am assuming that you are fairly new to linux, so "nano" is probably the easiest for you to get your hands around.

vi (vim) is a more powerful editor, as is emacs.  Both of them will probably be, no offense, over your head at this point.

nano filename

will be easiest

Not until you install Gnome.  smile

But for editing config files nano should be plenty. It's also a lot faster than gedit IMHO.

ok, i installed arch
i wrote reboot and took out the cd
the thing is that windows boot up normally

it's even not reload the grub
