Hi! I noticed some issues with Ark when installing matlab on my laptop running KDE and Arch (newest versions, updated yesterday).
When I extracted matlab installation zip with Ark it welcomed me with the following message:
/home/user/Downloads/matlab_R2020a_glnxa64/bin/glnxa64/bin/glnxa64/install_unix: error while loading shared libraries: /home/user/Downloads/matlab_R2020a_glnxa64/bin/glnxa64/libexpat.so.1: file too short Checked in bin/glxna64 dir and found that libexpat.so.1 was only 17 bytes long and was not properly linked to libexpat.so.1.8.7 . When extracting the same zip using simple unzip file.zip i noticed that the symlink was being created and the install script ran with no problem.
I assume it's not legal to share my install zip because of some piracy law shenanigans, but here's the link to the archive I created that should (kinda) demonstrate the problem. When unzipped with unzip command libexpat.so.1 is a proper symlink, whilst when extracted with Ark it is not.
If you have access to matlab, feel free to test it on the real zip, I don't know if my test zip replicates the problem to the fullest extent.
I've tried going to Ark settings and disabling libzip plugin, but the same issue persists - but only when rightclicking archive -> extract. When first opening the archive in ark and then clicking extract in ARK Gui it works as it should.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's just an Ark issue that should be reported on bugtracker.
Thanks in advance.
