[solved] Screen going blank after ": : triggering uevents"

spelling was the issue; it's modeset, not modset.

I was installing Arch on an old desktop using a flashed USB that I've recently used to install Arch on a laptop. After configuring the BIOS for UEFI I booted into the live environment and after it gave the triggering uevents message the screen goes blank. It still responds to commands AFAIK since if I tell it to poweroff or reboot it does so. I'm thinking it's an issue with the graphics card and have seen some solutions to similar issues by changing either loglevel or modset but they didn't seem to work.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A
Graphics card: R0G-STRIX-Q4G-GAMING

"didn't seem to work" is not an error message, which exact parameters did you try? Generally speaking if this is an nvidia card you will want to try nomodeset which should get you to a basic VGA console.

I added loglevel=7 and nomodset, it went and once again showed a blank screen instead of a console

Be careful of typos, you wrote it wrong twice when posting here, it's nomodeset
