Good morning list. Have any of you tried to install Mullvad Browser yet? I downloaded the file thinking it would be portable like Tor-Browser, instead it requires installation with root permissions. I don't know if this operation can make the OS unstable. Opinions? Thanks.

There is a mullvad-browser-bin package in the AUR that could be used. Not sure why there isn't a non-binary version though, the source code is available.
Never used it myself though, nor would I install a browser from a -bin package. That doesn't seem sensible.

I downloaded it from their website and unpacked it to a folder in $HOME. It runs from there, no root permissions necessary.
I've only run it once to have a look. Not sure I'll use it in earnest, just curious as I use their excellent Linux VPN client.

Thank you for your answers. I found that it wouldn't boot because I keep the download directory on a separate partition. Moved it to $HOME and it boots without any problems.
