After updating to version 3.16.1 it got really slow. Firefox and other firefox-based Browsers do not open if nordvpn is connected. Another thing I noticed is that other software, which does not depend on an internet connection, is slow with nordvpn connected. This is happening with OpenVPN and NordLynx.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

This issue occurs with Firefox and not NordVPN. It appears to be a very old Firefox issue. The browser takes a few minutes to start when the VPN is connected. Other browsers do not have the same problem.

Have you tested with other browsers that derive from firefox like Tor-browser, waterfox , palemoon and such ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

I tested with TorBrowser and LibreWolf. The Torbrowser does not have the same problem, it opens normally, but LibreWolf has the same problem as Firefox.

Torbrowser seems to base itself on firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) with a patch.
I suggest you try https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/firefox-esr-bin to verify if the tor patch solves the issue or the difference between normal & ESR version.
