Unable to force fsck automatic repair on boot

Hello all,

I have a problem with configuration of fsck on system boot.
I want fsck to autmaticaly repair a demaged filesystem.
Currently, if the filesystem has any inconsitancy it forces me to manualy run fsck to fix these problems.

I have fsck hook in my mkinitcpio.conf.

I tried to set the kernel parameters fsck.mode=force and fsck.repair=yes
But it keeps forcing me to manually run fsck.

Then I tried the second option mentioned in the wiki https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/fsck
So I removed fsck hook from mkinitcpio.conf and rebuild the image. Then I changed grub.cfg to mount the system partition ro as mentioned in the wiki.
But it seams like fsck didn't run at all in this configuration.

Does anyone have a hint for me how to get fsck working with automatic repair on boot?

Thanks in advance

Markus
