Troubles burning dvd ?

Hi,

I just reinstalled Arch after I accidentally broke my pacman database, and I have some troubles with burning dvd : neither graveman nor growisofs in console works. As soon as I launch the burning I get an error (input/output error). What's very strange is I succeeded two times in burning, but it's not reproductible (I tried something like fifty times).

So if someone has the same problem and/or knows a way to get it back to work, your post is welcome

Does it work as root? If so, add your user to the "optical" group.

What is the full message growisofs gives you? You say a couple of burns were successful, my drive is temperamental with some dvd-r media, sometimes it works, sometimes it complains about OPC failing. If your error message is similar try passing the following option to growisofs

-use-the-force-luke=noopc
