I've got a question, which funnily enough I can't seem to find an answer to online: do I still need a swap partition if using a swapfile? Or does setting up a swapfile eliminate the need for a swap partition?

Why use windows when have linux? Why use computer when can debug?

The latter.
The point of the swap file is to not be limited by the normally much more troublesome to change size consideration of the full partition. For the general "normal" use cases the swap file has the same purpose as the swap partition so you can just have one of them.

Thanks a lot. I'll mark the topic as closed.
