sysinfo are not available

I'm facing an issue with starting my qemu/kvm/virt-manager virtual machine, and I'm hoping someone can help me out. When I try to start the VM, I get an error message saying: "Unable to complete install: 'XML error: Domain 'win10-vm1-singlegpu' sysinfo are not available."

I did some digging and found out that I have to run "virsh sysinfo" as sudo for the command to actually work. Otherwise, it outputs the error message: "error: unsupported configuration: Host SMBIOS information is not available.", I'm not sure whether this command has to be ran as sudo.

I'm not sure what's causing this issue, and I'm not sure how to fix it, can this be because of some permission error? I would appreciate any help or suggestions on how to resolve this issue so that I can start my VM successfully.

Here's some additional information that may be helpful:

I'm using qemu/kvm as my virtualization solution.
I'm trying to start a Windows 10 virtual machine.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can offer.

Re: sysinfo are not available

You certainly need UID0 privileges to access the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Management_BIOS
(Same w/ eg. dmidecode)

I assume you get away w/o by pre-populating the smbios entry
https://access.redhat.com/documentation … nformation
https://www.slicewise.net/debian/bios-i … chreichen/ (german, but there's an example)
