[SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

I am getting input/ output error (on every commands) when in boot into arch Linux along with the SATA error.
I tried readjusting my SATA cable.
*I am on Laptop with dual boot Linux in different drive

I tried fsck with bootable usb but sometime drive doesn't show in lsblk.

Re: [SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

All this points to a broken SATA cable (or a connector on the drive, or worse yet, on the motherboard). Errors in the connection will not cause SMART errors as the errors are not internally in the drive. I've seen exactly these kind of errors caused by a broken cable - but it was a desktop.

Replace the SATA cable to rule out a broken cable. This may be difficult since it is a laptop.

If it is under warranty, I'd contact their support with the logs, and suggest a replacement SATA cable (as this is something a user can replace, and best resolution for all parties).

*I am on Laptop with dual boot Linux in different drive

Dual boot like two different linux or linux & windows?
In case of the latter, see the 3rd link below. Mandatory.
Disable it (it's NOT the BIOS setting!) and reboot windows and linux twice for voodo reasons.

No, "different drive" doesn't matter.

Re: [SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

I tried replacing the SSD, still it doesn't show up.
After that I also tried replacing SSD sata cable of my laptop, still not working.
Then I got my motherboard check, repair man told me ssd doesn't getting enough power to run. So I gave it for fixing.
After that it have same problem but ssd show up for few minutes after the start.

I am stuck, what should I do now?

Re: [SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

Post an updated journal, but if there's been no change to the errors, there's unlikely been a change to the underlaying HW condition.
Was the SSD (model) originally part of the notebook?

Re: [SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

Currently I don't have access to Linux, I have window which was on other NVME ssd ( working fine ).

I ran HP diagnoses test (SHORT) on the problematic ssd, it passed.
But when I run from BIOS, it failed and showing wear level of 156%.

When I start laptop(windows). SSD volume show up, I could also move small file into in without any problem.
But when I move large file as 2-4 GB. It moves for 5 - 10 seconds (speed of 300 - 350 mbps) then it drop down to 0.
And SSD is disconnected from the OS, while showing the massage -> storage device is not connected

Re: [SOLVED]Input/ Output error and ata1 error in arch linux.

Thanks for all ur help.
I resolved the problem.
My laptop was in dual boot with window(primary) in two different physcial drive.
When I was using the window uses my linux  drive for caching and running in very high power which cause it wear in just 3 month completey.

I got replacement for SSD and disabled the Linux drive in window to ever use and can't even powerup the drive while i am using windows.
