Random freezes on Haswell CPU

Hello,

I have a laptop with a Haswell CPU (i7-4710MQ) and HD 4600 graphics. However, for the past few months, I have been experiencing screen freezes when I'm not actively using the keyboard or mouse.
For example, this happens while watching a movie with VLC or playing a game on retroarch using a controller.
The issue is difficult to reproduce, it usually occurs after approximately 5 minutes of "inactivity" and lasts for about 5-10 seconds, while the sound continues to work.

I attempted to resolve the issue by adding "i915.enable_psr=0" to the command line; I don't think this option is available for this generation of hardware, and the issue still persists anyway.

What should I try? Replace mesa with mesa-amber? Enable crocus - I couldn't check which driver mesa is using by default?
Thanks.
