[SOLVED] Arch Linux on MacBookPro: Weird colors

Hello all,

recently I installed Arch Linux on my old MacBookPro mid 2012. For the Installation, I used an external SSD. Today I wanted to fix that 30seconds waiting. So I booted into MacOS Recovery, did "csrutil disable", then rebooted into normal MacOS and did "sudo bless --device /dev/disk2s1 --setBoot". While booting the color of the internal screen is purple for some seconds. Then the arch linux messages are appearing, still weird colors. After GNOME starts, the internal screen is okay, but then the external screen has that weird colors. That's really annoying because I work mostly on external screen.

If the following is helpful: I had Ubuntu on the external SSD before Arch Linux, and I already plugged the external monitor out. Then the internal monitor does also NOT have that weird colors.

It would be really great if you could help me fix this problem.

Extended color description: Looks like WAY too much night light (but night light isn't enabled); some antialiasing looks weird. BUT white is white, blue is blue, some black is black, but grey is grey mixed with red or so.

Thanks in advance,
anonymous01

Re: [SOLVED] Arch Linux on MacBookPro: Weird colors

This issue has now been solved.
I upgraded macOS on the internal disk from macOS Sierra (10.12) to macOS Catalina (10.15).
With that upgrade everything has been solved.

Fun fact: I had to upgrade macOS because I wanted to use the external monitor. But now the monitor works too on Arch Linux, so I will use Arch Linux.
