Can't print after scanning. (hplip + cups + sane)

Hello!
First of all, I have used archlinux for a while now, and it must be the best distro I've ever tried!

Now to the problem, i have setup my computer to use a hp usb printer/scanner (PSC 1402). I'm using hplip together with cups to be able to print, it work perfectly. I'm using sane together with hpaio (from the hplip package) for scanning, that work great to.
The problem occurs after i have scanned an image (usin scanimage or the scanning function in writer/openoffice), and then want to use the printing function (in openoffice). looking in the jobs section in cups, I can see that the job has been added, however I have to restart cups (nano /etc/rc.d/cups restart) or manually restart the printer to make cups print.

I have searched the web for a while now, and I can see that I'm not the only person with this problem, however I can't find any working solution.

So, does anyone of you, Linux gurus, know how i should solve this problem?
