I normally just use my NVIDIA card but I needed to connect a monitor to my iGPU today but I'm struggling to get output.
Boot gets stuck on
Reached target Graphical Interfacewhen I disable the external GPU. If external GPU is enabled I can boot as usual but I just get a non-blinking cursor on the monitor that's connected to the iGPU.
Information that may be useful:
I am using KDE on Xorg and SDDM. I tried creating an X conf file as instructed in the wiki but that didn't make any difference.
$ uname -r
6.3.9-arch1-1
$ lspci -k
00:02.0 Display controller: Intel Corporation Alder Lake-S GT1 [UHD Graphics 730]
Kernel driver in use: i915
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA104
Kernel driver in use: nvidiaOffline
What exactly did you do "as instructed in the wiki" ? Generally you don't want any xorg.conf and should test the case without anything. This especially includes if you ran nvidia-xconfig at some point which makes this behaviour in general completely expected. If that doesn't help already, post a xorg log: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General
