[solved] Slow download speed with r8169
For a couple of weeks I've noticed slow (300-500 kb/s) download speeds everywhere using my laptop's ethernet (r8169 driver.)
At first I thought it was my internet provider, but then today out of frustration I used an usb network adapter (r8152 driver) and speeds were normal -- example: 3 mb/s for the same download link instead of the 400 kb/s I get using the built-in adapter.
Kernel version is 6.4.3, firmware-version rtl8168h-2_0.0.2 02/26/15.
Any idea what's happening? Software or hardware issue?

Switching to r8168 solved my issue. I could swear r8169 never caused any problems on this laptop, was there a recent change?

I suggest you post your issue here they made changes in kernel 6.4 for r8169. and broke quite a few systems.
