Why is an audio plugin trying to force a host install?

I am attempting to install cardinal-clap from Extra and it is trying to forcibly install a host for CLAP plugins as a hard dependency. Why would you try to force me to install a host I don't need? I have Bitwig which is my choice of CLAP host so I do not want or need qtractor or reaper installed.

You do need one.  It can be *any* clap-host, but you do need one.

I have Bitwig which is my choice of CLAP host so I do not want or need qtractor or reaper installed.

Okay, so you have one.  If bitwig is indeed suitable, then this is an issue with your bitwig package as it should provide clap-host.

I have left a message on the bitwig-studio AUR page and edited the package build myself to include "provides=(bitwig-studio clap-host vst-host vst3-host)". Looks like others had already mentioned this to the package maintainers but no update has been made.
