Re: Kernel 6.4.7 KMS Nouveau not working

Please provide the full system journal for a boot with the issue.

Re: Kernel 6.4.7 KMS Nouveau not working

Please run "journalctl -b" after the restart, I have had a similar situation in kernel 5.20 long time ago with fedora 35, I had to install nvidia's proprietary Nvidia Driver.

Re: Kernel 6.4.7 KMS Nouveau not working

More like

sudo journalctl -b -1 | curl -F 'file=@-' 0x0.st

because we need the journal from the previous (failing) boot.

Normal boot on kernel 6.4.7 without nomodeset
[root@DEVA etc]# journalctl -b -1

Seth - I'm not sure what you're saying.

Are you suggesting that that there is a bug with the nouveau driver that supports GF119? And that a better option might be to install the nvidia-390xx-dkms AUR package?

Cheers,

Re: Kernel 6.4.7 KMS Nouveau not working

There's obviously a bug in nouveau (as posted by the OP) and the suggestion would indeed have been to just use  nvidia-390xx-dkms - they still work fine (except for wayland, then then work basically not) and provide much better performance.
