Question on fonts at 1024x768

It seems as though most fonts for GDM and Flux are optimized for larger than 1024x768 resolution.

Unfortunately, I have a laptop which will go no higher than said resolution. As such, the anti-aliasing looks like such crap that I've been forced to use the only font I could find that could work. Now, ordinarily that wouldn't be too bad but if I want to change themes or what not, I'm afraid I'll have to go through this all again.

Are there any fonts out there that display well in 1024x768 on a LCD laptop screen?

Any input will be rewarded with twinkies wink

Edit:

I have an HP nx9005 laptop, using the open-source ATI drivers (proprietary drivers not available for my model).

You should probably search for one of the many threads out there where we discuss font rendering and configurations.

I have. I've tried many of the recommendations. Perhaps I didn't try hard enough, I'll see if there's anything else around. Thanks.
