VirtualBox - Host mouse click not working

Sometimes when I use VirtualBox and then minimize the VM to do some work in my host maschine, my mouse buttons won't work. I can move the mouse but the clicks don't register. The only way to "re-activate" my mouse clicks is to close my VM by SHIFT-TABing to the VM window, opening up the terminal with a hotkey and shutting down the VM with systemctl poweroff. Only then, once the VM is shutdown, is my mouse working again.

Has anyone else had this problem and knows a solution to this? I'm so sick of this..

OS specs:
- DE: Xfce 4.18
- WM: xfwm
- VirtualBox 7.0.10 r158379

Installed VirtualBox packages:
- virtualbox
- virtualbox-ext-oracle
- virtualbox-guest-utils
- virtualbox-host-modules-arch
