Audio going through the wrong channels

I have been trying to set up the audio in my system with Pipewire.

In general, there is no audio at all. However, I have noticed that when using the Helvum patchbay, there are four playback channels. Most applications only route audio to the first two, which don't work. If I manually reroute the audio to the other two channels, sound works as expected. However, this manual process is annoying and if the audio disconnects for even a second (like if a video buffers) I have to reroute it manually again. My hypothesis is that somehow the software thinks I have four speakers when I really have only two, but I don't know how to verify this or fix it if it's true.

I have reinstalled pipewire and alsa completely and erased the configs to get the default ones, but nothing has changed. I am also using pipewire-pulse for compatibility with some programs.

I'm not sure what other information might be useful, but I'm happy to provide it if asked.

Thanks,
