Hibernate slow on nvme

Hi,

I have 2 laptops in use, both have an up to date Arch in use. On the first laptop (AMD cpu, 20GB ram, NVME ssd) hibernation needs more than one minute. On the second one (Intel cpu, 12GB ram, SATA ssd) hibernation is done within 20 seconds.

Did anyone also experience slow hibernate on NVME and perhaps also could share a solution?

Thank you in advance !

Re: Hibernate slow on nvme

I also have nvme and speeds aren't the best. However this also depends on how full your ram is. Have you tried hibernating with no programs turned on?

Re: Hibernate slow on nvme

yes, i tried different ram usages on both laptops...and the pattern is always the same...intel cpu (i5-8250u) with sata ssd hibernates much faster that than the ryzen (7-4700u) with nvme ssd.....the sata ssd is an 870evo, the nvme is an 980pro...gnome-disks shows about 500MB/s write speed for both drives. thus, it looks like the nvme is not able to utilize its dram+slc caches to achieve the advertised high write speed
