You mean mean shift+pgup/pgdown?
Yet another alternative would be tmux, but you've to enter ther buffer w/ ctrl+b,pgup - then you can navigate in it like in a texteditor.

Yes! xfce4-term honors shift+PgUp which is all I wanted. Thanks for the replies, all.
