Curious temporary loss of touchpad and laptop kbd

Just booted into my new Arch install on my HP Dragonfly G2 and after it had gone to sleep for a bit sitting by me on the desk I woke it up, logged in and was using the keyboard and touchpad.  Had just opened a terminal and suddenly the keyboard and touchpad stopped responding.  I thought the system may have hanged but I switched my MX Anywhere mouse over to the right channel and the pointer responded immediately to the Logitech, then I plugged my external USB Keyboard in and found I could use the keyboard.

Subsequent to that I found the touchpad and laptop keyboard were responding again.

I pulled the tail of my Xorg log and found this:

[will@ArchLinuxKDE log]$ tail -n 100 Xorg.0.log

[will@ArchLinuxKDE log]$

Only other place I found something like this is with MINT
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=398088

I will try my other WM options and keep searching.

Not sure how far I should go back in that log or where else I should be looking but it does appear that the detection of the new input devices kind of pulled the old ones back after they were identifying as unresponsive?  Any thoughts on this?  Maybe just a freak event?  Never happened before in my experience and my searching didn't turn up anything except the usual synaptics issues with a variety of laptops.
TIA
