xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused

Hello. I am trying to start Xorg for Awesome WM, but whenever I do xinit or startx, it outputs the error mentioned in the subject. I have tried many things, none of which worked. How can i fix this?

Define "many things" and what you did exactly.

Post your current .xinitrc, the actual log you receive when trying to start xorg and your xorg.log https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/List_o … n_services
