Copying Files to an exfat drive causes them to get corrupted

If i try to transfer any file to an exfat drive they get corrupted, this happens both in dolphin, using cp or mv in terminal. The file copies extremely fast (like a 5gb file in a few seconds) and shows up as 5gb, if i unplug and plug the usb drive back in the file shows up as 3gb, sha256sum also shows different results, This happens with every exfat drive i've tried

dmesg logs:

Re: Copying Files to an exfat drive causes them to get corrupted

Did you dismount the drive before you unplugged it?

Edit:  Hint -- no you did not.
