Hey friends,
I've checked my journal and dmesg and haven't figured out what could be causing this, but after a recent update, my mouse cursor is a bit laggy. It's interesting, when I first boot into Plasma, the mouse cursor works as expected, but then after a few seconds it starts the laggy behavior. Very odd.
Actually, it seems like the laggy periods are intermittent, lasting for a minute or so.
Additionally it's worth mentioning I use a trackpad.

I can temporarily get the cursor to move as expected if I run
# /usr/bin/udevadm control --reload
# /usr/bin/udevadm triggerLast edited by cloverskull (2023-10-21 03:17:20)

1. the kernel ringbuffer is actually copied in the system journal
2. but you expect others to tell you what's wrong w/ the system without any logs or even information about the HW and SW besides "plasma" and "I use a trackpad"?
Like the relevant bus, display server, input drivers, power saving efforts, other devices on the bus and maybe even actually relevant error messages?
Ok. I'll try the best I can do.
Errhemmm…
It's broken. You need to buy a new computer.

Ha, yeah, I guess that was a pretty low effort first post ![]()
Interestingly this appears to have magically gone away. *shrug*
I think it's probably safe to close this out and treat it like an anomaly. I did recently take another update and perhaps that fixed everything. Who knows.
