I am currently on Hyprland and trying to run Overwatch 2 through steam.
When I installed the game at first it automatically ran under xwayland and everything was fine in terms of performance, recently for some reason it gets launched under wayland by default and its unplayable with huge latency and low fps.
I am using Proton Experimental, but also tried the older versions which didn't change anything. I tried setting "env -u WAYLAND_DISPLAY %command%" or "GDK_BACKEND=x11 %command%" in game options, that also didn't work.
Applications like Discord and Steam itself do launch through xwayland (checked with xlsclients). Currently I think the issue lies in 3d acceleration under xwayland not working, because i couldn't launch any other games under xwayland nor vkcube nor any other applications that require 3d acceleration under xwayland, they all launch under wayland now.
My system specs are Ryzen 7 5700X and RX 6700 XT
I dont know which logs to provide in this case so yeah...
