Good morning
I can't set run pb to print pdf. The model of my printer is an HP Officejet Pro 7740 Multifunction with wifi network.
The text is always shifted to the right.
It's all the more annoying since I have to print quotes and it doesn't work: I tried to print with several PDF viewers, with Firefox and Chromium: same problem
I uninstalled and reinstalled my printer several times via cups and hp-setup but no improvement
If you have a solution or a diagnosis, I'm interested
thanks in advance

What does "set run pb to print pdf" mean?
The text is always shifted to the right.
Images not?
Do you print the wrong™ paper format (letter ./. A4)?
Is the text cut off?
Did you misconfigure the print borders?

I noticed the following in /var/spool/cups/error.log
[26/Oct/2023:18:39:33 +0200] CreateProfile failed: org.freedesktop.ColorManager.AlreadyExists:profile id \'OfficeJet_Pro_7740-Gray..\' already exists

[27/Oct/2023:16:34:42 +0200] Printer drivers are deprecated and will stop working in a future version of CUPS. See https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups/issues/103

And that's completely meaningless - though you can certainly switch to IPP everywhere (you'll need cups-pdf for that) none of the three lines even explains what you're actually perceiving, let alone the cause.

Problem occurs only with pdf files.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
Also please briefly explain how this was solved or at least what the actual problem is or report this thread for the dustbin, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … way_street
