Laptop (ASUS G513QY) suspend and resume works the first time only, not the second time.
On every boot: suspending and resume works properly once, then any further attempts to suspend makes the laptop enter suspend mode, but when resuming, the laptop reboots.
From lspci:
06:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd NVMe SSD Controller SM981/PM981/PM983
07:00.0 Non-Volatile memory controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTS5763DL NVMe SSD Controller (rev 01)
Hardware:
ASUS G513QY
Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB
TEAMGROUP MP34 4TB
After the first suspend (triggered by echo freeze | sudo tee /sys/power/state) the system resumes successfully. After the second suspend, attempting to resume reboots the system instead.
Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Using pm_trace, the kernel reports:
PM: Magic number: 0:367:522
pci 0000:07:00.0: hash matches
acpi LNXPOWER:06: hash matches
The SSD at pci 0000:07:00.0 is TEAMGROUP MP34 4TB. However, I then swapped the 2 SSDs in the slots. However, after this, pm_trace no longer matches any hashes.
I have booted the Arch Linux live installation media, and the same issue occurs. I have also tested Fedora live media and it happens as well.
This is a relatively new issue that popped up recently, I remember it working properly a few months ago. I don't remember exactly what changed when this issue started.

Did more testing; booted the Arch Linux live installation media and the suspend issue occurs if and only if the TEAMGROUP MP34 SSD is installed. Removing it (even though it is not used) fixes the issue (but it also means I cannot boot into my normal installation).

Fixed issue by replacing SSD
